As a former D1 Cross Country runner and an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), Dr. Shields draws upon her athletic background to provide personalized, movement-focused care that inspires strength and resilience for individuals of all ages.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy
Dr. Shields offers specialized orthopedic physical therapy services focused on treating musculoskeletal conditions, improving mobility, and promoting recovery through personalized exercise programs, manual therapy, and evidence-based techniques. Her approach aims to restore function and enhance quality of life for individuals dealing with pain, injury, or surgery recovery.

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy
Dr. Shields provide comprehensive pelvic health physical therapy services to address a range of conditions, including pelvic pain, incontinence, and postpartum recovery. Through personalized treatment plans, she utilize specialized techniques such as manual therapy, pelvic floor exercises, and education to improve strength, function, and overall well-being.

Pediatric Physical Therapy
Dr. Shields specializes in treating children with gross motor delays, focusing on improving strength, coordination, and mobility through fun, engaging exercises tailored to each child’s needs. Additionally, she empowers and educates parents with the tools and knowledge to support their child’s development at home, fostering confidence and progress.

Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) for Lymphedema
Dr. Shields offers complete decongestive therapy for lymphedema, utilizing a combination of manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, exercise, and skin care to reduce swelling and improve lymphatic flow. This comprehensive approach helps manage symptoms, promote circulation, and enhance quality of life for individuals living with lymphedema.

Initial In-Person Asssessment
Experience a comprehensive, personalized in-person evaluation to assess your unique needs. We take the time to understand your concerns, goals, and history to create a personalized treatment plan. Your journey to healing begins with a thorough assessment that sets the foundation for effective care.
Duration
The Initial In-Person Assessment lasts 60-minutes.
Options
Dr. Shields can conduct orthopedic evaluations for musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation, pediatric evaluations focusing on developmental and motor skills, and pelvic health assessments for conditions such as incontinence or pelvic pain. Additionally, Dr. Shields can perform evaluations for lymphedema and lymphedema-related conditions to address swelling and fluid retention. Each evaluation is tailored to the individual’s needs to develop an effective, personalized treatment plan.

Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up sessions are key for empowering you with the tools for continued recovery, keeping track of your progress and adjusting your treatment plan. Dr. Shields works each session to refine your goals and ensure consistent improvement. Each visit builds on your success to achieve lasting results.
Durtion
All follow-up appointments last between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Follow-up visits vary based on the patient’s condition. From orthopedic injury recovery with a focus on strengthening and mobility, to postpartum moms addressing core strength and pelvic floor recovery, to supporting a child in achieving their gross motor milestones, and managing fluid retention and swelling associated with lymphedema- each session’s duration and treatment approach are tailored to the individual’s specific needs
